About NCVH

New Cardiovascular Horizons (NCVH) conference, scheduled September 10-13, 2008 in New Orleans, is the fourth largest cardiovascular conference in the nation.

NCVH began in 2000 as a small, regional cardiovascular, podiatry and wound care meeting hosted by Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS), a south Louisiana group of cardiovascular physicians. The conference brought specialists together who were involved in all aspects of limb salvage, podiatry, wound care and peripheral vascular treatment. This multidisciplinary philosophy is the approach that drives the growth and diversification of NCVH.

Since then, the conference has become the first and largest truly multidisciplinary conference to bring together cardiologists, fellows, residents, imaging professionals, surgeons, interventional radiologists, podiatrists, wound care specialists, cath lab techs, nurses, technologists, physician assistants, endocrinologists, family practice physicians, internal medicine specialists, pharmacists, EMTs, diabetologists,
pharmacologists and vascular medicine specialists.

Each year, the conference brings 3,500+ attendees, 125+ exhibitors and over 125 faculty including individuals who are considered legends in the field of medicine, such as Dr. Julio Palmaz, the inventor of the coronary stent that bears his name and Dr. Edward Diethrich, inventor of the sternal saw used in open chest surgery.

Once again, NCVH will feature live satellite broadcast of interventional cases. A panel of renowned physicians will narrate and discuss the cases during educational sessions, as they are viewed on wide screen by attendees. This dynamic teaching approach will allow participants to experience decision making and procedures in real time.

Now in its ninth year, NCVH has expanded in both attendance and focus to includes sessions not only for cardiovascular, podiatry and woundcare, but also the cath lab tech, RN and an entire range of cardiovascular health care professionals.
While NCVH is a multidisciplinary conference addressing the entire field of medicine, we will offer the 4th Annual International CLI (Critical Limb Ischemia) Summit, as well as the 3rd Annual Endovenous-DVT Summit as part of the conference, which will bring together world leaders to address the “global epidemic” of CLI, DVT and amputations. The CLI Summit and NCVH is highlighted by “live limb salvage” cases transmitted from CIS.

Additional conference highlights include: the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC) Session; the CTA Dinner Symposium; Inaugural Michael E. DeBakey, MD VA Symposium; the Indo American Society of Interventional Cardiology (ISIC) Session; multiple "hands-on" workshops; and multiple breakfast, lunch and dinner symposia. While in New Orleans, don't forget the fun you'll have at NCVH while you experience a Mardi Gras Style Parade, Jazz Cocktail Reception and Achievement Award Ceremony.

As the conference continues to grow each year bringing new technology, topics and procedures, so does the presence of attendees. In fact, there are attendees from every state in the nation, as well as a huge presence from an international audience.

Registrants completing the 2008 NCVH conference earn up to 30+ continuing medical education credits (CMEs) or contact hours (CEUs).
